In an atmosphere of shared responsibility, friendship and social conviviality —Tuesday morning— May 26, 2026—the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Hon. Chief Festus Keyamo (SAN), received the South-East Regional Director of the City Boy Movement, Chief Obinna Iyiegbu— popularly known as Obi Cubana—in his Abuja office on a courtesy visit.

The timely visit, which is part of a broader series of strategic engagements by the City Boy Movement across Nigeria, focused on strengthening collaboration and expanding political and civic participation in the South-East region.

During the meeting, Obi Cubana briefed the Minister on the activities and progress of the City Boy Movement in the South-East, highlighting ongoing grassroots mobilisation efforts, youth engagement initiatives, and stakeholder outreach aimed at building stronger political awareness in the region.

According to insights from similar recent engagements by the movement, the City Boy Movement has in recent months intensified its presence across South-East states, with leadership visits to key political figures and state institutions as part of its wider coordination strategy ahead of the 2027 political cycle.

Discussions during the Abuja meeting reportedly centred on areas of mutual interest, including youth inclusion in governance, political stability, and development-oriented partnerships that can foster regional integration and national cooperation.

Obi Cubana, who currently serves as a prominent figure within the South-East structure of the movement, has in recent weeks been involved in similar courtesy visits and consultations with senior government officials and state leaders, reflecting the group’s expanding political footprint across the region.

The meeting concluded with both parties identifying possible areas of collaboration aimed at strengthening civic engagement and enhancing communication between political stakeholders and the grassroots.

In a broader political context, Nigerian Media Expert , Public Analyst, and Publisher of 4th Estate Reporters Njoku— Macdonald Obinna— noted that the South-East has become an increasingly active zone in national political alignment discussions, with various groups intensifying outreach and mobilisation efforts ahead of future electoral contests.

While no formal political declarations were made during the visit, the engagement underscores growing interest in building inclusive dialogue between emerging political movements and federal institutions.
