In a significant step towards strengthening the HIV response in Anambra State, the Executive Director of the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency (ANSACA), Dr. Nkem Okeke, alongside his management team, paid a high-level advocacy visit to the Wife of the Governor of Anambra State and Founder of the Healthy Living Initiative, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo.

During the visit, the Executive Director presented the ANSACA State Strategic Transformation and Sustainability Plan (SSTSP) 2026–2028, highlighting its vision, strategic priorities, and implementation roadmap towards achieving an AIDS-free Anambra State. He also provided a progress report on key interventions and achievements recorded within his first month in office, including HIV prevention, testing, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and community-based initiatives across the State.

Dr. Okeke expressed profound appreciation to the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, for his unwavering support, visionary leadership, and commitment towards building a healthier and more prosperous Anambra State. He noted that the Governor’s investment in human capital development and healthcare continues to provide the enabling environment for a robust HIV response in line with the Anambra State Transformation Agenda and the African Dubai–Taiwan–Silicon Valley vision.

In her response, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the activities of ANSACA through her Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative. She unveiled plans to integrate HIV prevention, awareness, testing, stigma reduction, and care support into the Healthy Living platform, which will soon be formally inaugurated. According to her, the initiative will complement ongoing efforts to ensure that Anambra State achieves Zero New HIV Infections by 2030, in line with the global UNAIDS targets.

The First Lady further expressed confidence in the capacity of the Executive Director and the ANSACA team to deliver on their mandate and drive impactful outcomes that align with the vision of the Soludo administration. She commended the Agency’s strategic direction and the progress made within a short period.

The ANSACA team applauded Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo for her selfless service, compassion, and motherly commitment to the welfare of Ndi Anambra. The visit also provided an opportunity for the Executive Director to present an update on the toddler previously battling Advanced HIV Disease (AHD), whose case attracted the intervention of the First Lady. He reported that the child has made remarkable progress and is currently being prepared for transition to an orphanage home, following sustained care and support facilitated through her intervention.

Indeed, under the leadership of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, Anambra State remains firmly on the pedestal of success as it advances towards a healthier, more productive, and HIV-free future for all.
