TECHNOLOGY AND SPORTS: AGUATA CHAMPIONS ENGAGES IN PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE OF KIGALI’S SUCCESS

Since arriving Kigali, Rwanda, the Aguata Champions (finalists of the 2026 Aguata Best Student Challenge) led and sponsored by the Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr Chibueze Ofobuike, have been exposed to the overwhelming impact of Artificial Intelligence in everyday living, including sports management.

In a practical exposition and in the bid to understudy how Rwanda is striving to develop her sporting sector through technology, the brilliant champions were today engaged in a tour of the Amahoro Stadium – the Rwandan national stadium.

They equally visited the BK Arena – a sporting facility housing basketball, volleyball, lawn tennis and handball courts, built by the Bank of Kigali thus the name BK Arena, and as well Zaria Court, a facility for the development of young sports enthusiasts.

In the words of the dynamic Mayor of Aguata LGA, Dr Ofobuike, “an outstanding aspect of our Aguata champion’s visit to Kigali is the fusion of theoretical and practical knowledge as well as proper exposure to current global issues. They will be coming back to Aguata fully convinced that nothing is impossible”.

The world celebrates the hard-work and diligence of the high-flying Aguata champions and the dexterity of the ever inspirational Mayor, Dr Chibueze Ofobuike, whose leadership continues to reverbrate across Nigeria and beyond.

Best of learning and exposure to the Aguata champions!
