INAUGURAL ADDRESS BY THE MAYOR OF DUNUKOFIA LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL, CHIJIOKE C. OZUMBA, ESQ., ON THE OCCASION OF HIS INAUGURATION AND SWEARING-IN FOR A SECOND TERM IN OFFICE

Ndi Dunukofia, Ndewonu!

With profound gratitude to Almighty God and a deep sense of humility and responsibility, I stand before you today as I commence my second term in office as the Mayor of Dunukofia Local Government Council.

I am deeply honoured to have been sworn in and inaugurated by His Excellency, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, the Governor of Anambra State, to continue serving our people for another term.

This moment is more than a ceremony. It is a renewed call to service and a fresh commitment to the development, peace, unity and prosperity of Dunukofia.

I sincerely appreciate His Excellency, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, for his visionary leadership, his confidence in grassroots governance and his unwavering commitment to the transformation of Anambra State through the Solution Government’s development agenda.

I also appreciate Prince Engr. Arthur Eze (Ozoigbondu) for his fatherly support, wise counsel and enduring commitment to the development and wellbeing of Dunukofia.

To the leadership and members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), at the national, state, local government and ward levels, I thank you for your support, loyalty and commitment to our great party.

To our Traditional Rulers, President-Generals, community leaders, religious leaders, youth and women leaders, and all stakeholders, I appreciate your guidance, cooperation and invaluable contributions to the peace, unity and development of Dunukofia.

To Ndi Dunukofia, I remain deeply grateful for the trust and confidence you have placed in our administration. This second term belongs to all of us, and I accept it with a renewed determination to serve with humility, fairness, accountability and dedication.

I equally appreciate my Deputy, the Congress of Councillors, all my former appointees, members of staff and everyone who has contributed to the work of the Dunukofia Local Government Council.

To my family, especially my beloved wife, Mrs. Okwuchukwu Ozumba, my parents, children, siblings and relations, I remain grateful for your sacrifices, prayers, encouragement and steadfast support.

BUILDING ON OUR FIRST TERM

Ndi Dunukofia, our first term was a period of laying foundations, initiating interventions and addressing critical needs across our communities.

By the grace of God, we made progress in security, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, sports development, women empowerment, rural roads, drainage, agriculture, environmental sanitation, workers’ welfare and community infrastructure.

We strengthened collaboration with security agencies, vigilante groups and community stakeholders to promote peace and security.

We invested in educational and healthcare infrastructure, supported human capital development, empowered our youths and women, revived sports, improved roads and drainage, promoted agriculture and pursued initiatives aimed at making Dunukofia cleaner, safer, more prosperous and more livable.

We also continued to align our local development efforts with the vision and development agenda of His Excellency, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR.

These accomplishments are not the achievements of one individual. They are the result of collective effort, cooperation and the commitment of Ndi Dunukofia.

THE SECOND-TERM AGENDA

As we begin this new chapter, our focus is clear: consolidation, continuity and greater impact.

We will build on the foundations already laid, improve where necessary and pursue new opportunities that will further advance the wellbeing of our people.

In alignment with the Five Pillars of the Solution Government, our administration will continue to focus on:

Security, Law and Order: We will strengthen collaboration with security agencies, vigilante groups and community stakeholders to sustain peace and security across Dunukofia.

Economic Transformation: We will expand support for farmers, traders, youths, women and small businesses, while promoting an environment conducive to enterprise, investment and economic opportunities.

Infrastructure and Urban Regeneration: We will pursue the completion of ongoing projects, initiate additional interventions where resources permit, improve roads and drainage, and continue to enhance public infrastructure and our town centres.

Human Capital and Social Development: We will deepen our interventions in education, healthcare, youth and sports development and women empowerment, with particular attention to vulnerable members of our communities.

Good Governance and Service Delivery: We will continue to promote transparency, accountability, responsiveness and prudent management of public resources, ensuring that the government remains accessible and responsive to the people.

A RENEWED COMMITMENT TO SERVICE

Ndi Dunukofia, commencing a second term does not mean the end of our responsibilities; it places an even greater responsibility upon us to deliver more.

We will work harder, listen more attentively and remain open to constructive ideas and contributions from our people.

We will continue to work closely with our Traditional Institutions, community leaders, religious bodies, youths, women, professionals, business owners, civil society and all relevant stakeholders in advancing the collective interest of Dunukofia.

Our vision remains clear: to build a Dunukofia that is secure, prosperous, developed, united and livable; a Local Government Area where our people can live with dignity, where our youths can find opportunities, where our communities can thrive and where every citizen can proudly identify with the progress of our homeland.

Ndi Dunukofia, today marks the beginning of another chapter in our collective journey.

The foundation has been laid.

The work continues.

The vision remains alive.

And together, we will take Dunukofia to greater heights.

I therefore rededicate this second term to the service of Ndi Dunukofia and to the continued pursuit of our collective aspirations.

May Almighty God continue to guide our administration.

May God bless every community and every family in Dunukofia.

May God bless Anambra State.

May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

God is with us.

DUNUKOFIA IS ON THE RISE!

PROSPEROUS AND A LIVABLE DUNUKOFIA (PALD).

Yours in Service,

CHIJIOKE C. OZUMBA, ESQ.

Mayor, Dunukofia Local Government Council
