The Monarch Event Centre, Lekki Phase 2, Lagos, came alive with an impressive gathering of accomplished entrepreneurs, industrialists, business leaders, traditional personalities, entertainers and friends of Igbo heritage as Akuluno United Brothers Association celebrated its second anniversary with its Annual General Meeting and the launch of its much anticipated book titled; ” Akuluno: A Catalyst For The Development Of Igboland.”

At the centre of the colourful gathering was High Chief Sir, (Dr.) Amb. Anthony Ikenna Obele (Okwunze Aguata, Aku Sinachi Ndi Igbo Gburugburu)—Chairman of Mekens Integrated Nigeria Ltd—whose presence added a distinctive touch to an evening defined by enterprise, culture, brotherhood and social camaraderie.

Chief Sir Anthony Ikenna Obele, who joined the Akuluno family following his induction during the Association’s 2025 Annual Retreat in Ghana, returned to the fold in Lagos for the landmark second year anniversary, this time in the company of his beautiful wife, Lolo Lady Ifeoma Obele, alongside friends, associates and other distinguished personalities who graced the occasion.His presence was impossible to overlook; a man of excellent character, class, and appealing steeze.

Elegantly dressed in a striking black-and-white suit which was the official dress code for the anniversary, Obele brought his unmistakable sense of style to the gathering. His diamond wristwatch and magnificent bracelets completed the appearance as he moved around the venue, exchanging greetings, sharing warm conversations and posing for photographs with friends, associates and fellow members of the Association.

But beyond the elegance, the photographs and the glamour surrounding the occasion, Obele’s presence carried a deeper significance.

It represented another chapter in the relationship between a prominent Nigerian entrepreneur and an organisation whose activities have increasingly connected business success with cultural identity, brotherhood and the responsibility to contribute to community development.

The programme began with the Annual General Meeting on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the prestigious Lagos Continental Hotel- Victoria Island—giving members an opportunity to review the Association’s journey, activities and achievements while considering its direction for the years ahead before the gathering moved into the anniversary and book-launch segment.

The occasion was chaired by Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, while Chief Sir Patrick Okonkwo served as Chief Launcher. The event also brought together members of the Association’s leadership and planning team, including its Pioneer National President, High Chief Duru Mike Ejiogu, Onowu Anara, and Chief Francis Akealu, Chairman of the Planning Committee.

The unveiling of Akuluno: A Catalyst for the Development of Igboland gave the celebration a purpose beyond marking two years of existence.

The book reflects the philosophy behind Akuluno United Brothers —bringing together successful people whose experiences, networks and resources can be channelled towards enterprise, human-capital development, youth empowerment, community advancement and the preservation of Igbo heritage.

It is a philosophy that resonates strongly with Obele’s own public journey.

His business interests and community interventions have placed him within the growing circle of Nigerian entrepreneurs whose activities extend beyond commercial enterprise into infrastructure, community development and philanthropy. His projects have included road infrastructure in Anambra, while his philanthropic activities have touched areas including education and practical empowerment.

That connection between enterprise and social responsibility made Obele’s presence at the book launch particularly significant.

The atmosphere at The Monarch Event Centre was, however, not limited to speeches, business conversations and formal engagements.

Music and entertainment turned the gathering into a colourful celebration as Kaycee thrilled the audience with his performance, while Ada Zion delivered a charismatic and soul-lifting gospel presentation that added a spiritual dimension to the evening.

The appearance of Indaboski also added another memorable dimension to the gathering, as his presence among the distinguished guests further heightened the lively atmosphere surrounding the celebration.

The performances, photographs, conversations and exchanges among guests created an atmosphere where business relationships and old friendships seamlessly blended with culture and entertainment.

Among the notable personalities associated with Akuluno’s wider network was HRM Igwe Mac-Anthony Okonkwo, HRM Dr. Amb. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, HRM Igwe Pete Uyanwa (Ezedike of Ukwulu Kingdom), whose presences further reflected the organisation’s growing connection with the Igbo community beyond Nigeria.

As cameras continued to capture the evening, Obele was photographed alongside his amazon of a wife, Lady Ifeoma Obele, friends and associates, providing some of the memorable images from a celebration that brought together different generations and sectors of the Igbo business community.

For Chief Super High Chief Sir (Dr.) Amb. Anthony Ikenna Obele, the Lagos gathering was therefore more than another social engagement.

It brought together several dimensions of his public identity the industrialist, entrepreneur, philanthropist, traditional title holder, husband, friend and community-minded businessman within a single celebration built around heritage and collective progress.

His journey with Akuluno began in Ghana in 2025. His appearance at the association’s second anniversary at The Monarch Event Centre in Lagos marked another stage of that relationship.

From the formal deliberations of the AGM to the unveiling of the book, from the powerful conversations among business leaders to Kaycee’s performance, Ada Zion’s gospel presentation and the presence of personalities such as Indaboski, the evening carried the unmistakable character of a celebration designed to connect achievement with identity.

The second anniversary ultimately became a reflection of an idea that continues to shape Akuluno’s identity that success becomes more meaningful when it can be connected to heritage, relationships, mentorship, enterprise and the advancement of society.
