AGUATA CHAMPIONS VISITS KIGALI GENOCIDE MEMORIAL: GAINS KNOWLEDGE ON PEACE BUILDING
Led by the Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr Chibueze Ofobuike, Dr Chibueze Ofobuike, the finalists of the 2026 Aguata Best Student Challenge have continued to gain international exposure in Kigali, Rwanda.

Today, after hours of intensive learning facilitated by Coderina Edutech – a global outfit empowering young Africans through STEAM, robotics, tech entrepreneurship, etc -, the champions were engaged in a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial.

The Memorial is a mind-blowing place of remembrance and learning, dedicated to the victims of the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. It commemorates the 1994 Rwandan genocide and contains the remains of over 250,000 victims of the incident.

At the memorial, the amazing Aguata champions were exposed to a powerful experience focusing on the need to promote reconciliation and building peace through education.
It has been an experience of a life time for the high-flying young people who are already ambassadors of their respective schools and communities in Aguata.

According to the dynamic Mayor, Dr Ofobuike, “we are confident of their transformation to becoming globally-minded young people ready to make impacts. For them, it is a journey from Aguata to the world”.
Dr Chibueze Ofobuike is on course to raise more young and transformational leaders.
May his efforts never be in vain.
Many congratulations to the Aguata champions.
