The atmosphere in Ukpor was both solemn and reflective on Saturday, May 2, 2026 as waves of eminent personalities, political leaders, and respected stakeholders gathered to honour the life and legacy of the late Pa Alexander Ikechukwu Emesim (Chinemelu I of Ukpor). Their presence was not merely ceremonial it was a powerful testament to a life that commanded respect, built influence, and inspired generations.

From heartfelt tributes to quiet moments of reflection, the condolence visit resonated deeply with all in attendance. At the center of it all stood Chief Evans Izuchukwu Emesim (Okwumereze I of Ukpor Ancient Kingdom), son of the deceased, and Founder of the Akuluno United Brothers Association— who received the guests with gratitude and strength, embodying the values instilled by his late father.

Among the prominent figures present was High Chief Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu, MFR—Chairman of Chisco Transport Group— who reflected on the enduring legacy of Pa Emesim as a father whose greatest achievement was the success and unity of his children. He noted that beyond raising accomplished individuals, the late patriarch fostered a spirit of brotherhood and social cohesion. In his words: Pa Alexander Ikechukwu Emesim’s legacy lives on in the unity and brotherhood he promoted within his community. Also present, was the Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Engr. Dr. Felix Odimegwu, who described the late Pa Emesim as a symbol of discipline and community values. He emphasized that the true measure of a man lies in the impact he leaves behind, noting that the deceased’s life continues to inspire responsible leadership and commitment to societal growth.

Rt. Hon. Akaegbobi Johnbosco Nwabugwu, member representing Nnewi South Constituency II in the Anambra State House of Assembly, paid tribute to the late elder as a man of wisdom whose legacy of integrity and family strength should serve as a guiding light for future generations.

In his remarks, Chief Ernest Ezeajughi, immediate past Chief of Staff to the Governor of Anambra State— Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CON— highlighted the enduring influence of Pa Emesim, stating that his life was a reflection of purpose, humility, and service qualities that remain essential in today’s society.
