The Igbo diaspora leader in the Republic of Ghana, HRM (Dr.) Amb. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu — has joined Igbo sons and daughters both at home and in the diaspora to celebrate a royal icon, an embodiment of wisdom, and cultural excellence, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, CFR (Agbogidi, Obi of Onitsha), on the occasion marking his 85th birthday commemoration.
In a goodwill message he personally signed and made available to his Country – Director on Media Strategy & Communications —Njoku Macdonald Obinna— he was quoted to have said:
“Today, we join the global community in celebrating a rare monarch whose reign has continued to reflect peace, dignity, and visionary leadership. Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe remains a father figure to the Igbo nation and a symbol of unity whose contributions to cultural preservation and human development will forever be remembered.”
Today is not just another celebration of years, but a celebration of royal impact, timeless leadership, cultural preservation, and a life devoted to peace, unity, and the progress of the Igbo nation and humanity at large. Your reign has consistently distinguished you as a symbol of dignity, wisdom, and exemplary traditional leadership, deeply rooted in justice, peace, and the advancement of your people.
Your Royal Majesty, your journey on the throne of your forefathers reflects a legacy built on honour, integrity, and a relentless commitment to the preservation of Igbo rich cultural heritage. You have remained a pillar of inspiration to many, demonstrating that true kingship is not only about authority, but about service, humility, and the ability to positively influence lives across generations.
Through your fatherly guidance, Onitsha Ancient Kingdom has continued to experience cultural rebirth, economic boost, global recognition, and strengthened unity. Your voice has remained a moral compass for peace, reconciliation, education, youth empowerment, and harmonious coexistence among diverse people.
