It was an evening wrapped in warmth, respect, and shared culture as HRM Eze Dr. Amb. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu (Ezigbo Ghana), the Igbo Diaspora King in the Republic of Ghana, paid a New Year courtesy visit to HRH Eze Duru Oshimiri Ataa- Ataa (lll) Obinna Okwiwu (Dim Ohamadike II), the traditional ruler of Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community, Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State, Thursday, January 1, 2026.

The visit, marked by heartfelt conversations and deep mutual admiration, reflected the enduring bond of Igbo brotherhood beyond borders. Receiving his guest with royal grace, Eze Duru Oshimiri Ataa- Ataa (III) commended Eze Ihenetu for his unwavering commitment to bridging gaps and strengthening unity within the Igbo community in Ghana, describing him as a resilient leader whose influence transcends geography.

The host king , Eze Akwiwu, also encouraged Ezigbo Ghana to remain steadfast in leadership, especially in the face of recent challenges, including the difficult period when calls were made by some Ghanaians for his exit from the country. He eulogized him for his sterling leadership qualities, courage, and dedication to the welfare of his people, noting that true leadership is tested not in comfort but in adversity.

In response, Ezigbo Ghana expressed deep gratitude to his host, appreciating him for his fatherly role, wisdom, and exemplary leadership. He congratulated Eze Obinna Akwiwu on his ascension to the throne of his forefathers, describing it as a divine alignment of tradition and purpose. He further commended the monarch for successfully hosting the Ofala Festival, noting that it was the first of its kind under his reign and a significant cultural milestone in Nwangele LGA and across Imo.

The visit was enriched by the presence of the royal family, including the wife and children of the host monarch, alongside other guests who gathered to share in the moment. The atmosphere was one of love, respect, and genuine cordiality, as stories were shared, laughter echoed, and bonds were strengthened.
