Hon. Kingsley Abisi Leads Successful Nigerian Community Family Picnic in Finland, Commends Spirit of Unity

Igbo community and Nigerian residents in Finland came together in an atmosphere of friendship, culture and celebration as the Association of the Nigerian Community in Finland (ANCF), under the leadership of its President, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Abisi, successfully hosted its annual Family Summer Picnic at Pikkukoski Beach, Helsinki.

The colourful gathering attracted members of the Nigerian community from different parts of Finland, alongside friends of Nigeria, for a day dedicated to strengthening relationships, promoting cultural identity and fostering a greater sense of belonging among Nigerians living abroad.

From family games and children’s activities to music, networking and traditional Nigerian delicacies, the event reflected the warmth and resilience for which Nigerians are widely known. It also provided an opportunity for old friends to reconnect while welcoming new members into the growing Nigerian community in Finland.

Speaking after the event, Hon. Kingsley Abisi expressed appreciation to everyone who attended and contributed to its success, noting that the annual picnic has become an important platform for promoting unity, mutual support and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians in Finland.

He particularly commended the Planning Committee for months of careful preparation and applauded the voluntary support group, whose selfless commitment before, during and after the event ensured its smooth organisation.

The ANCF President also thanked every family, individual and well-wisher whose presence and contributions added colour and value to the celebration, describing the overwhelming turnout as another demonstration of the strong bond that exists within the Nigerian community in Finland.

As the event drew to a close, participants departed with renewed friendships, cherished memories and optimism for even greater community engagements in the years ahead.
