“We Need NDDC for Development,” Declares Burna Boy
Nigerian music icon Burna Boy (Damini Ogulu), also known as the African Giant, has taken a bold step towards regional development by seeking strategic collaboration with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to drive growth in Ahoada, Rivers State.

During a high-level courtesy visit to the Commission’s Corporate Headquarters in Port Harcourt, the Grammy Award-winning global star emphasised his commitment to uplifting his roots, noting that while he is ready to invest in the development of Ahoada, meaningful impact requires institutional partnership and support from the NDDC.
The meeting was attended by the Managing Director/CEO, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, PhD, alongside the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Hon. Boma Iyaye, and the Executive Director, Corporate Services, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, as well as members of management and staff.
In his response, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, PhD, reaffirmed the Commission’s readiness to collaborate with Burna Boy, describing him as a powerful global ambassador and a source of pride for the Niger Delta. He further encouraged the artist to maintain strong ties with the region, noting that his continued presence and influence can help attract sustainable development and global attention to the Niger Delta.
This engagement signals a promising synergy between cultural influence and institutional support, paving the way for impactful, community-driven development in the Niger Delta.
